Interiors & atmosphere
Layout, lighting, materials, music. A room that puts people in the mood to stay.

We help local businesses turn everyday visits into experiences worth returning to, and worth talking about.
sen·te·ra (noun) from sentiero, the footpath: the small road people learn by heart on the way to somewhere worth going.
What we do
You already have something people like. We design the moments that make them love it: the reason they stay a little longer, come back a little sooner, and bring a friend along next time.
And where it fits, we design in something more rare: real human connection. A regular greeted by name. Neighbors bumping into neighbors. Those moments that have become increasingly rare, and the things that build an emotional connection to a place.
Who we are
A family-run practice in the Texas Hill Country, pairing big-firm design experience with a product expert's eye for what makes people return.
We work hand in hand with local owners to strengthen the community around them, because it's our community too.
What it can look like
Interiors, lighting, sound, flow. The vibe people feel the moment they walk in.
Online presence, because the first impression starts before the visit.
The laundromat with a coffee bar. The garden center with a petting zoo. The pairing nobody saw coming that makes you the place. This is where we shine.
Reasons to come back on a Tuesday. Tastings, classes, gatherings, seasons.
The installation or attraction people drive across town for, and tell everyone about.
Who it's for
Boutiques, nurseries, sporting goods, gift shops, places people seek out for the joy of the find.
Restaurants, coffee shops, taprooms, hotels, places where the second visit matters more than the first.
Just a few of the businesses we work with.

Services
We come in with a point of view, design with you, and help bring it to life. Choose the level of partnership that fits where your business is right now.
Who we work with
Just a few of the kinds of places we work with:
Don't see yours? If your business has a front door and regulars, this is for you.
The range
Some businesses need the basics done beautifully. Some need the thing nobody else in town has. Most engagements draw from a few of these.
Layout, lighting, materials, music. A room that puts people in the mood to stay.
Accurate hours, honest photos, answered reviews, booking that works. The visit starts online.
The ownable touches people photograph and regulars look forward to.
Tastings, workshops, live music, seasonal traditions that bring people back on a Tuesday.
Sightlines, displays, and flow that quietly do the selling for you.
The bold one: a built draw that makes you a destination, not a stop.
Your mind has already started turning the wheels. Let us help really get things moving, and uncover the opportunity.
Ways to work together
Three packages, each building on the one before. Not sure which fits? Book a free consultation and we'll figure it out together.
A focused conversation that surfaces what's possible.
Owners exploring whether experiential design is their right next move.
A complete experiential design, costed, documented, ready to build.
Owners ready to act, who want a complete blueprint for their own team or contractors.
End-to-end, from first conversation through opening day.
Owners who want us alongside them from first idea through opening day and beyond.
What changes
Regulars come more often. New faces find their way in. Both at once.
More needs surface during the visit. More moments to be useful. More chances to sell.
People leave with things they didn't plan to buy, because the visit gave them room to discover.
Customers tell friends and post the moments, bringing new people in without another dollar on ads.
And the fourth shift is a loop:
Built into the way customers already visit you.
In real conversations and across feeds.
Drawn by what they saw and heard.
And the cycle starts again, a little louder each time.
The quietest return: moments of real, in-person connection, often the true reason people come back.
Our process
The same five steps anchor every package. We just go further together depending on your tier.
Who you are. What your business represents. Who your customers really are. You meet us with a one-page thesis already on the table.
More foot traffic? Longer visits? Increased sales? A new kind of customer walking in? The clearer your goal, the sharper the design.
A creative ideation session with you, then we go to work and come back with concrete ideas: costs, logistics, ROI, all spelled out. You decide what to implement.
Sourcing products, coordinating contractors, overseeing the build, reviewing the finished space. As light or hands-on as you want us to be.
We measure what changed, hear what surprised you, and celebrate the wins together. Your success is our community's.

About us
We kept walking into family-owned places we love and seeing how much more they could be, how a few thoughtful changes could give people every reason to come back, stay longer, and bring a friend.
We named the studio Sentera for the sentiero, the footpath people learn by heart on the way to somewhere worth going. That's what we help build: places worth a repeat visit.
Who we are
We're Gretchen and Chris, a husband-and-wife design team raising our kids in the Hill Country. We work with local businesses because we live in their neighborhoods and we're their customers too.
Co-founder · Designer · Mom
Years inside one of the world's largest design firms, on projects most local businesses never touch. She brings that experience down to street level, with an eye for the details that turn a space into a place worth lingering in.
Co-founder · Strategist · Dad
Product designer and entrepreneur, fascinated by what separates a place you visit once from one you return to. He brings the playbook and the track record to execute.
Why we do this
As our family grew, we went looking for short escapes: places to take the kids, slow afternoons, outings that didn't need a long drive. Some Hill Country spots nailed it. Others made it obvious how much was being left on the table.
The ones that nailed it, sometimes just down the street, filled up every weekend, with the same families we kept running into, plus the new ones their friends sent. The difference, almost always, was an experience worth talking about.
So we built this practice for our neighbors, the ones whose shops we already frequent, whose patios we already gather on, whose Saturdays we already spend nearby.
We want this corner of Texas to keep its character. That's the whole reason we do this, alongside our neighbors, for our neighbors.

How we work
Packages are fixed fees. Larger builds are priced phase by phase — no one can quote a build that isn't designed yet. No retainers, no minimums, no surprise invoices: you approve every number before work starts.
If we can't help, we'll say so in the first conversation. Better for everyone.
We're locals, invested in our neighbors' success. We celebrate the wins with you, and we stay close when you need us again.

What to expect
You talk. We ask questions. We want to understand your business before we say a word about ours.
If we can't help, we'll say so. If we can, we'll show you what working together looks like.
No pressure to commit. You'll leave with clarity, whether or not it ends in a project together.
